The Five Styles

Each sister's signature. Each piece the only one of its kind.

Every Bawariyo potli belongs to one of five styles — રાણી Rani, ગુલાલ Gulaal, કેસર Kesar, નજર Nazar and બંધન Bandhan. The signature pattern of a style repeats; the piece never does. Tap any piece to ask us on WhatsApp or Instagram.

રાણી RaniThe Queen
Signature pattern: Cascades of antique-gold coins over silk — regal, unmissable, heirloom-heavy.
Cultural thread — Across Gujarat's villages, women have long stitched their family's coins into their clothing — wealth you could wear, history you could hear. Rani carries that jingle of inheritance.
ગુલાલ GulaalThe Celebration
Signature pattern: Rose-pink silks, sequin crowns and dancing pom-pom garlands.
Cultural thread — Gulaal is the pink powder that fills the air at Holi and the joy of a garba night in full swing. This style is that moment — colour thrown skyward — made permanent in silk.
કેસર KesarThe Desert Sun
Signature pattern: Saffron, crimson and earth-toned patola with hand-set abhla mirror work.
Cultural thread — Abhla mirrors were first stitched to catch Gujarat's desert light — and, as every Gujarati grandmother will tell you, to flash away the evil eye. Kesar glows like a Gujarat desert sunset.
નજર NazarThe Protector
Signature pattern: Midnight silks with brass coin work, lit by flashes of bright pom-poms.
Cultural thread — Black is the colour of protection in Gujarati tradition — the kajal dot behind a child's ear, the dark thread against nazar. This style guards its keeper, beautifully.
બંધન BandhanThe Bond
Signature pattern: Strands and edgings of moti pearls; drawstrings that tie like a promise.
Cultural thread — Bandhan means the tie that binds — the rakhi on a brother's wrist, the knot in a bandhani dupatta, the drawstring of a potli holding what's precious. Pearl by pearl, this style honours every bond.
